The main casino in Casino Square is I presume the one you want to visit. It had a very relaxed dress code unless you want to go into the private rooms, at the back, where you have to wear jacket & tie IIRC. I think the admission was 10 euros for the general areas. The Casino has two sections, the first you get into as you enter is dedicated to fleecing tourists, with a more casual dress code. Further in, there is a second or inner section for the more serious gamblers which opens later in the day than the first part. You will have to pay an extra entrance fee, and a stricter dress codes applies. I wanted to visit the casino one of the nights, but wanted to check the dress code to insure I pack properly.. One tour book said a coat & tie was required while another said that they were not. Any help would be appreciated along with any restaurant suggestions. I will be staying at the Port Palace, it has good reviews on this site.
I've heard varied opinions regarding the dress code everything from cat-walk-worthy suiting to casual "I'm trying not to look like a tourist" summer wear Much appreciated :.
Here's the dress code from the Casino website: DRESS CODE In the gaming rooms : sensible dress is required. No shorts or flip flops allowed.
In the private rooms : after 8 p. No sport shoes allowed. No military or religious uniforms allowed. The Casino has two sections, the first you get into as you enter is dedicated to fleecing tourists, with a more casual dress code.

Each room has only one type of game in play. As we did not know this we were only able to see in to the main gaming room.
Two years ago I took my sons for his 21st birthday. I had heard the same information as you have and made him wear a coat and tie.
I think part of the confusion is that there are two different areas to gamble in. One has nothing but slot machines. Is outside the actual "Grand Casino" itself- as you are facing the casino from the square in front of it the slot machine area is to the left.
There are a few cafes in and around it. This portion of the casino definitely does not have a dress code. If you want to enter the "Grand Casino" itself there is an entry fee charged at least for those of us that are "commoners" I guess.
There were men in coat and tie, some with coat and jeans, and others without coats at all. The "heavy" gamblers were known by the staff and we had a great deal of fun and entertainment just watching them.
Inside there is another room just for slots and even private slot rooms for the "heavy" players. I am sure there are other private gambling rooms that we never saw but after watching some of the action at the tables we saw I can't imagine what it takes to get in to them.
